On December 17, 2017 we lost an important part of our lives, Josephine Rita Lujan passed away peacefully at age 83 surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Santa Barbara, CA to the late Joe and Mercedes Urzua. Josie attended and graduated from San Jose High School, in 1954 she met the love of her life Art. They were married in 1955. Josephine was predeceased by six of her seven siblings, Nellie, Pauline, Joe, Ray, Ernie and George. She is survived by sister Irene Juarez (Jesse). Josie was instrumental in establishing Art's Poodle Parlor in Santa Clara which she ran very successfully with her husband Art.

She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She had the most generous heart and touched many lives. Cooking was one of her passions which was evident during the 17 years she spent house boating on Lake Don Pedro. She enjoyed playing golf, bowling and watching the Giants and 49ers. But since day one of her marriage hot rods were an important part of her life. She was past president of California Vintage Rods and in 1992 she was chosen Lady Street Rodder of the Year.

Josie had an adventurous spirit; she and Art traveled far and wide in their street rods. Her motto was "tell us where and when, we'll be there." She leaves behind her loving husband of 63 years, Art, daughter Lupe Lujan Custodia (Floyd Jr), sons Artie and Mike, grandson Sebastian Custodia (Nicole) and many family and friends. A special thank you for caring for our mama to all of her caregivers at Kaiser, Santa Clara.

Family and friends are invited to a memorial service to be held at Lima Family Santa Clara Mortuary, 466 North Winchester Blvd, Santa Clara on Saturday January 27th at 2 pm. Josie's Party to celebrate her life will be held shortly after the service at the Three Flames Restaurant, 1547 Meridian Ave. San Jose at 4 pm.
